Welcome to the Mr Macramé Atelier

British born in Leicester, now residing in DC, America, Peter holds a passion for knot tying and dressmaking that can be traced back to childhood. Inspired by Grandmother and Aunt who were jewellery makers with a fledgling art and craft store in the 90's called 'Gemini'.

Following 15 years experience within the fashion industry, Peter considers his artistic intersection occurred while living in Melbourne, Australia. Collaborating street artists, ceramicists, photographers, digital and floral artists, Mr Macramé showcased his knot tying craftsmanship on projects and performances which achieved recognition from media outlets such as Time Out, Broadsheet, The Age and televised news and radio.

The Artist turned fashion designer now focuses on creating sustainable couture clothing with creativity, texture, technology and craftsmanship as it's core values. The fundamental goal of Mr Macramé is to keep the ancient art form alive, push the boundaries of knot tying within the fashion industry while showcasing the beautiful qualities and intricacy of knot tying in textiles.

The Mr Macramé Atelier looks to collaborate with brands to create elaborate, intricately detailed garments. The Atelier will rely on sustainable, local materials, circular wear repair and rework designs, with clever tech practices. All with a personal eye for modern, chic, sophisticated style.
