Sustainability and Circularity
Welcome to the sustainable world of the Mr Macramé Atelier, where each piece is thoughtfully designed to embody a circular journey from concept to creation and beyond.
As a designer I'm committed to reducing waste at every stage of production,
I use macrame techniques to craft one-of-a-kind garments from exclusively natural, recycled and repurposed materials. Each garment represents more than just fashion; it tells a story of care, respect for the environment and the beauty of transformation.
My commitment to sustainability begins with material selection,
ensuring only the most eco-conscious options are chosen. Whether that's researching the suppliers or asking questions about the farming and recycling practices before ordering the raw materials.
During the macramé process, any off cuts generated do not go to waste. Instead they find new life in additional designs, building out the collection and creating fresh, innovative pieces from these remnants.
This approach not only maximises resources but also inspires creativity by turning limitations into new design possibilities.
This journey doesn't end with the garments.
Smaller offcuts are repurposed once more, this time transformed into handmade pulped paper. This paper becomes the canvas for sketches, design explorations and artworks, bridging each collection to the next in a seamless, sustainable cycle.
Through this approach I aim to offer more than just fashion; I provide a glimpse into a responsible, artistic practice that respects our planet and celebrates the timeless art of macramé.
Transparency is at the heart of everything I do.
I believe that fostering an open dialogue is essential to creating trust and promoting sustainable practices in fashion. I am always happy to answer any questions you may have about my process, materials or choices.
Whether your curious about the origins of a particular fibre or the carbon footprint of our deliveries, I welcome the opportunity to share and discuss my commitment to sustainability.
Creating couture that prioritises both artistry and environmental responsibility is an ongoing journey and I'm dedicated to refining this process with integrity. Your interest and support make it possible to keep pushing these boundaries. Together we can contribute to a more transparent future in fashion, design and art.
